Christina's Thoughts

21st of June, '09 10:59 pm CAR!!

I'm buying a car!!!!!!!!

It's a 2003 Ford Focus with 73,000 miles. I looked at it myself last Thursday, and then today I went with my uncle Wayne so he could give it a look, make sure everything was good with it. It's $4,600. I put down a $200 deposit today, and will pay the rest tomorrow when I pick up the car. :-) It's in great condition. Pictures will go up soon. ^_^

So, my sister-in-law's sister is getting married on the 15th. Her fiancée's father runs a tailor shop, which had been founded by his father. Anyways, I'll be at the wedding, not in it, just in the audience, so I needed a suit. I was able to get a nice suit, that would normally run around $500, for just $175. I got measured today.

We're having an election party tonight at a friend of Adam's and Megan's, hopefully to cheer Obama's victory and not to mourn McCain's.

17th of February, '07 10:21 am Various Updates

Man, it's been a long time since I've updated. I haven't been keeping up with my friendslist either, so I'll have to catch up on that. Now, let's see, what's new?

I got a new iPod, a 4 gigabyte one. I got it from Peggy. She'd gotten it for Christmas, but never used it, and was going to return it, so she offered it to me as part of my babysitting pay. It's pretty nice, although I still don't like the volume control on the ipod. It's too easy to accidentally bump it and change the volume. Other than that, though, it's great.

Benjamin turns one on Wednesday. It's hard to believe it's already been a yea. He's doing great. He's started to take a few baby steps. He'll say "mamamamama", and I think I heard him say "Heidi" the other day, but I'm not sure.

Heidi's doing good. She had her irst swimming lessons on Friday, just two kids in her class, and the other one is already a friend of hers. She's acquired yet another imaginary animal, this one a baby unicorn named Birdy-In-A-Nest (!). She's white, and apparently very tiny, because Heidi will walk around with her hand palm-up, and say that the baby unicorn is on her hand. :-) She also said that her baby unicorn is 20½ years old (they stay babies a long time, apparently :-)). The past few weeks Heidi's decided that she wanted to sleep on the floor rather than on her bed. No idea why she decided that, but she's got her sheets and blankets pillows on the floor.

A while back, Peggy took all the toys out of Heidi's room, because she kept playing with them instead of going to bed. So then, Heidi found an old paintbrush, snuck it into her room, and now that's her "magic wand", and she can have anythingwshe wants. :-) She also likes to play with it with other people, turning them into things. She's turned me into a block, a piggy bank, a doggy, and once she said she was going to turn me into a princess. :-)

Heidi really liked Valentine's Day, probably because of the candy and presents. :-) She asked me if it was Halloween next, and I told her that no, the next day was Presidents' Day, so she asked me "What's in the presents?" :-)

Class is going well. One of the students had to drop the class, unfortunately, because he needed more time for other classes. Thursday, one of the girls was talking about this manga she found that was apparently the gospels in manga form. So, we started joking about that, about someone in the story going chibi, perhaps with the classic hammer. Chibi Mary Magdalene, or Chibi Virgin Mary (especially good during the birth scene), or better yet, Chibi Jesus himself. Ah, good times.

Oh, and I got two new t.A.T.u CD's - 200 Po Vstrechnoi (the Russian-language version of 200 km/h In The Wrong Lane) and The Best. I'm particularly loving Doschitai Do Sta and Robot from 200, and Ne Ver Ne Boysia Ne Prosi from The Best.

16th of August, '06 04:53 pm New earphones.

So, I bought a pair of noise-cancelling earphones today at Best Buy. $56.98 after tax. They work pretty nice. I was able to listen to my MP3 player while riding my bike, which I hadn't been able to do before due to the wind noise and the general street noise. Only disadvantage is I didn't hear my phone ringing when my aunt tried to call me. :-) Though, to be fair, I don't always hear it anyways while on my bike.

Yesterday, Heidi was singing along with All About Us, although at one point, she decided to change it to "It's all about Benjamin" (her 5-month-old brother). *chuckles* Though, I just now realized that that changes it to something rather similar to the Puff Daddy song, or P-Diddy, or whatever the heck name he was using at the time. ^_^

We'll run away if we must
